Annual Opportunity Award Gala
Honoring Kevin “Catfish” Jackson
January 24, 甘肃快三 | Tailgate Reception 6:15 p.m. | Eckburg Auditorium
This year, the STC Foundation honors Kevin “Catfish” Jackson for his business acumen, vision and commitment to developing the next generation of Georgia’s leaders. Jackson is the founder, president and CEO of EnvironVac Holdings, LLC, a company he started and grew to more than 1,000 employees during two decades. He is the Chairman of the Savannah Economic Development Authority and sits on the Southeastern Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as the advisory board of directors for United Community Bank and previously served on the Bethesda Leadership Academy board. He was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Board of the Georgia Ports Authority. He previously served on the boards of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Lottery Corp.
Founded in 1929 as The Opportunity School, this annual signature event began with our 75th anniversary year in 2004. From the very beginning, this institution has been creating opportunities through technical education. The Foundation felt it was only fitting to honor those who have devoted their lives to the same undertaking. The Opportunity Gala honors deserving civic leaders for a lifetime of service in creating and enhancing opportunities for others to succeed. They have demonstrated a commitment to creating opportunities for Georgians both locally and at the state level. Past recipients include: Former Governor Zell Miller, Arnold Tenenbaum, Judge Griffin Bell, Tom Coleman, Dick Eckburg, Arthur M. Gignilliat, Jr., Bob and Alice Jepson, Howard Morrison, Stratton Leopold, Chef Jean-Yves Vendeville, and Ted Kleisner.

Tribute to Community STARs
TBD | Eckburg Auditorium
This event, held each spring, recognizes unsung heroes in our community. The first Tribute to Community STARs event was held in April 2007 and began a tradition of celebrating the achievements and contributions attained by the outstanding men and women in our community. Often times, we don’t take the opportunity to say thank you to others for a job well done or to recognize the impact one has made in the community. The Savannah Technical College Foundation honors these individuals that make a difference! Your gifts, through sponsorships, tickets and silent auction purchases, support Savannah Technical College’s mission of workforce development in our region.
